Runescape Steam

Runescape is now going to Steam! – This is AWESOME

MMORPG

Jagex has officially announced Runescape is now on steam!

For years I’ve always wondered why Runescape wasn’t on the mainstream of gaming.

It’s always felt like this secret game I discovered whenever I was in Middle School. That no one other than the other nerds in my class played.

Runescape to be has always been a game I’ve played and came back to for many years.

The only game that ever made me stop playing for a significant amount of time was World of Warcraft.

WoW reached mainstream popularity while Runescape was the hardcore darkhorse of the MMORPG realm. While still popular never reaching WoW levels of popularity.

I don’t think RuneScape will ever reach the heights that WoW did, as MMORPGs have fell off quite a bit since the peak.

With RS coming to Steam this can finally show tons of casual gamers what they’ve been missing for years.

OSRS will also be available on steam which is set to release October 14th, 2020.

This is really big news for OSRS fans like myself who want new players to discover the game!

New players playing, the economy will be booming and newer players will be wondering what all they can do in this crazy world known as Runescape.

Runescape Steam a Good Thing?

I’m curious to see what everyone else is thinking about this.

The biggest question I’ve seen asked is what will happen to Runelite.

In my opinion RuneScape being on Steam won’t matter in the least when it comes to the Runelite client.

Jagex isn’t going to drop all of their old ways of connecting to the servers. Many other MMORPGs have linked their game to steam and can still use old launchers.

What do you think? Was this a good move for Jagex?
